Feature News: Ronin Network Leads Blockchain with 2 Million Daily Active Users
The Ronin network achieved two million daily active users (DAU) on July 29, 2024, surpassing Tron and Solana.
What’s the significance: It indicates a strong interest still in gaming-dedicated blockchain ecosystem, nearly three years after the popularity boom of Axie Infinity.
The numbers:
Ronin: 2 million DAU
Tron: 1.8 million DAU
Solana: 1.2 million DAU
Note: The data from Token Terminal tracks distinct addresses interacting with business-relevant contracts, including transactions and network engagement.
How did this happen: The Ronin team has been busy with partnerships, collaborations and announcements of improvements to the chain:
Popular gaming IP Ragnarok has a game coming out to Ronin.
Games like Pixels and The Machines Arena have had play-to-airdrop campaigns.
It announced a layer 2 initiative so more games can be built on top of Ronin.
Pixels Online has been incredibly popular. DappRadar is showing renewed interest as Unique Active Wallets returns to around 800K at any given day:
What’s next for Ronin: Two Things:
Mentioned earlier, Ronin’s upcoming launch of Ronin zkEVM, a zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) layer-2 chain, which aims to further decentralize the network and handle higher transaction volumes.
Ronin plans to introduce more games to its ecosystem, which currently includes 15 playable games.
